About TSO

1. What does TSO do?

TSO is the largest publisher in the UK by volume, publishing over 15,000 titles a year. We provide a comprehensive range of information and publishing solutions to the public and private sectors.

2. I want to publish a book. Can you help?

As a contract publisher, we generally enter into long-term contracts to publish multi-format titles for our clients. We specialise in publishing official and regulatory information.

If you are an author looking to publish a one-off title, you can contact a specialised self-publishing organisation that can help writers launch their titles through print on demand.

If you would still like to discuss whether we can help you, call us on +44 (0) 870 600 5522 or email tsoservices@tso.co.uk.

3. I need some material printed. Can you help?

We operate our own printing press and normally manage large volume contract print or print on demand jobs. As such we don't generally have the capacity for short-run ad-hoc print jobs. However we judge every job on its own merits and in some circumstances we might be able to help. To discuss your individual requirements, call us on +44 (0) 870 600 5522 or email tsoservices@tso.co.uk.

4. I need to get my Annual Report and Accounts published as a Command and House Paper. Can you help?

Yes. Visit the official publishing operations section of our website, which provides step-by-step information on getting your annual report and accounts published.

5. Who are TSO's clients?

TSO has over 235 clients in the public and private sectors, including many Central Government departments, Government Agencies and NDPBs.

7. What is the difference between TSO and HMSO?

TSO was privatised from HMSO in 1996.

We provide a comprehensive range of information and publishing solutions to the public and private sectors.

Her Majesty's Stationery Office (HMSO) operates within the Office of Public Sector Information (OPSI). HMSO is responsible for the administration of Crown copyright and the regulation of the contracts covering the printing and publication of legislation and other official materials.

8. Where can I find out more about Crown copyright?

You will find information on Crown copyright on the Office of Public Sector Information's (OPSI) website. Alternatively, you can call the Crown Copyright, Licensing and Public Sector Information team on +44 (0)1603 622211.

9. Do you sell stationery?

No. TSO is a document and publishing services provider. However if you are interested in having stationery produced, our document services solutions might meet your needs. Call +44 (0)870 600 5522 or email tsoservices@tso.co.uk to discuss how we can help you.

10. How can I work for TSO?

Good people are the key to our success and we are committed to recruiting and developing the best possible team.

11. I'd like to be kept updated on TSO's services. Do you have a mailing list?
